Alcohol    Detection   In   Cars

Project Overview

Our goal is to develop a device used to maximize driver safety by using an MQ-3 alcohol sensor mounted onto an Arduino micro-controller. The sensor will be able to detect alcohol content in its vicinity. If the alcohol content exceeds the legal limit BAC of 0.08%, the vehicle will not turn on. The data collected by the sensor through Arduino can be interpreted and analyzed by a Raspberry Pi micro-computer, which will indicate to the car not to turn on.
